Grey Summer

Today my sister wanted my help to boost her wardrobe and make her a bit more stylish. I knew the types of things that would work perfectly for her and when I picked them out for her at the store, she hated them. Heres the thing though, they were basics. I pulled out a crochet cardigan (similar to the one I am obsessed with) and she made the most disgusted face I've ever seen. Then I pulled out a basic black and white striped skater style dress and she said it was ugly....I think she's a lost cause.
While her style venture was less than successful, I really liked what I wore today. I haven't put this boxy tee on in awhile and this cheetah print purse was begging to be worn outside, so I threw them on! Super basic and simple, but I loved it anyways! Until my next post, Elyse.

Summer Jewelry

This post is dedicated to the items of jewelry I have purchased this summer. Most of them were bought recently, and I've become obsessed with them! They have definitely been my go-to pieces.

Baublebar Rose Gold Double Chain Necklace, No Longer Available. Received in Pop Sugar Box
Gorjana Open Circle Necklace, $65. Received in Pop Sugar Box
Aldo Turquoise Bib Necklace, $12.95. Not Available Online
Aldo Gold Horn Earrings, Free (Buy one get one free). Not Available Online

I've been wearing these pieces with virtually anything and everything. Having these pieces has made me realize how much better an outfit can look when accessorized the right way. Until my next post, Elyse.

Tie-dye Mess

I went to the Farmer's Market this morning with my mom and got tons of fruits and veggies (my favorite), and even brought home some lumpia, mmm. It was a tad hot for me to wear this, but I did it anyway. I was only outside for a short time.
One of the things I've been trying to do lately is wear things I've never worn or rarely wear. I have this habit of sticking to the pieces that I love, which isn't a bad thing, but I need to get more use out of my other things. I got this shirt for Christmas from my friend and this is the very first time ever worn it. Collared shirts just never seem casual enough me. Until my next post, Elyse.

Studded Button-down: F21, gift

P.S. Sorry for the mess, I wanted to have a different background and I kind of liked the way this looked.

Fourth of July

Happy Fourth of July!! Here is my semi-spirited outfit. I'm not doing anything special for the holiday, but its about 103 degrees here so I'm not complaining. Have a wonderful day!! Until my next post, Elyse.

Sons of Anarchy.

ITS SPRING BREAK! I'm so happy to not have any responsibilities this week, but its already half way done, tear. Unfortunately, while my parents moved houses my camera's charger got lost. The camera actually died as I was taking a picture for this post. So this will be my only real outfit post for awhile. I'm so saddened by that statement, but then I remember I'm going to Disneyland with my 5 best friends this weekend. Onto today's outfit.
I received this awesome Sons of Anarchy Tee for my birthday over the weekend and it fits me exactly how a t-shirt should. I literally have a weakness for perfectly fitting tees. Anyways, I paired it with my new black skirt and I loved how simple yet flattering it was. To keep it from being too "Gemma" I paired it with a pink kimono, gold accessories, and nude sandals. I miss Opie. Until my next post, Elyse.

Crap post/Crap week.

Let me just apologize. I thought I'd throw in an OOTD since I haven't in awhile, but this is just more of a test post. Let me ask, would you prefer more frequent posts like this one? Or less posts but of better of quality? Let me know down below!
My past week has been absolute sh*t. Just saying. I'm trying to get through it all even though all I want to do is make high quality blog posts, youtube videos, and shop. Just keep swimming. Until my next blog post, Elyse.

Maxi Time.

Happy Sunday everyone! I started my morning off with an omelet alongside my best friends at 8:30 am, we really love each other. After breakfast a couple of us drove around and decided to call into the radio station to win some Alicia Keys tickets. I called and called and finally it went through. The guy answered and said, "Caller 105!" I responded with a very calm okay, not knowing what number you have to be win. I asked my friend Chris and he said 106. Next thing I know my friend in the back seat, Christina, is saying, "You guys I won! I won!". Chris and I couldn't believe it. Especially me. One call off. Oh well!

So here is today's outfit. I like it but its nothing super stylish. This skirt was a really great find though! Until my next post, Elyse.

Happy 25th!

Merry Christmas to everyone! I've just been lounging around the house dressed up with nowhere to go.  Thats the only downside to Christmas. My family never does anything besides the whole present thing so I'm stuck doing nothing the rest of the day since everyone else is busy. I guess I could be productive....Until my next post, Elyse.

The Final Countdown.

Christmas is in four days! Let the countdown begin...It arrived so quickly! I went to Target this morning to pick up the rest (except for my mother and father) of my Christmas gifts. Its been raining all day so I haven't done anything else but I thought I'd show you my boring outfit for shopping this morning. Let me just say this hoodie is so warm! It is my go to thing when I'm cold. Expect a Christmas sweater outfit tomorrow or on Christmas eve. Until my next post, Elyse.

rainy day.

I came home this weekend to visit a friend who is very ill and surprise my dad for his birthday. This is the first time I've come home and not brought half my clothes with me! WOO HOO! So I pulled this dress and jacket out a box of clothes and threw them on for this dreary, boring, rainy day. When I left the house this morning to bring my dad lunch I didn't really care for this outfit, but now that I look at it, I think its a perfect lazy outfit :) I actually really love the second and third pictures and they are the highlight of my day (yes, my day was THAT boring). Hopefully I can take pictures tomorrow before I head back to school for finals! Until my next post, Elyse.

pants party!

I have been obsessed with pants lately. I don't know what it is, but all I want to do is buy pants, shoes, and more pants! I've found picking pants first and then a top and shoes to go with it for my outfits in the morning! It might not seem odd to you, but it definitely does to me.
I already own a pair of oxblood pants, forest green pants, floral pants, black pants, regular jeans, grey pants, and army green cargo pants. But here's my dilemma. My oxblood and forest green pants are very ill-fitting, and neither pair were dirt cheap. I just hate the fact that when you try something on in the fitting room it can fit perfectly and then once you take off the tags and wear them out and about, they're terrible! So because the fit is anything but desirable, I want new pairs. I think I might go to forever 21 and find cheaper versions to make myself not feel so bad and still get a couple wears out of the ill-fitting ones before trying to re-sell them to crossroads or plato's closet. My other problem is that pants do not come cheap. I want a lot of pants, but my wallet does not have the money to buy them all. Sure, I could get lucky and find some at the thrift store, but I want them now. I guess I just have to be patient to be stylish. Until my next post, Elyse.

change.

For the past month or even more I've found myself in a style slump. I don't like anything in my closet and I've been having a hard time putting together outfits that I love. So, I've come to the conclusion that I need to change my wardrobe a little bit. I have been trying to have a messy thrown together boho/grungy type of look and I just can't seem to do it. So instead, I'm opting for a more simple style of clothing with interesting silhouettes paired with more daring accessories. I can still keep my personal style but be more put together. Until my next post, Elyse.
