Back to Basics

My weekends have become days to  lay around and wait for my shift at work to begin. Since I didn't start until the evening I asked my mom if we could do something today. I really just wanted to go thrifting, but I left it open for interpretation so that way she'd be happier doing what she wanted than what I wanted. So we went and checked out a little shopping center we've never been to and I got a couple of really cute things that I'm sure I'll style very soon.
This is the outfit I shopped in. I've been very into basics lately so I thought I'd pair this tank shorts that I've never worn before with the crochet cardigan I'm currently living in. I just love how slouchy and comfy it is!

Crochet Cardigan: Eco-thrift, $4
Black Tank: Eco-thrift, $1
High-Waisted Shorts: Superior Thrift, $4
Blue Sneakers: Vans, $35
Red Bag: F21, $15
John Lennon Sunnies: HM, $9

p.s. I'm working on a better background for pictures. I wish I just had a photographer boyfriend or best friend to take pictures of me, but until then its just me, my tripod, and my camera on self-timer.

Birthday Wishes

I really want to go to Thailand for a couple weeks this summer to volunteer. The biggest issue is, of course, money. Comment below with any fundraising tips!

On to the real content of this post...even though my birthday is two months away, I've been thinking of some gifts. This is all I could remember at the time, but I'm sure I can think of more things.

1. A basic fitting t-shirt. One thats flattering and has a wonderful silhouette.
2. T-shirt dress. I can't seem to find one anywhere! I've been looking for years!
3. Cheetah print Vans. I've really been wanting a pair of cheetah print shoes and (as you can tell), i am loving my vans at the moment.
4. Grey Vans. Since I've been loving my Vans, I want another color.
5. Navy Vans. Same as above, I just can't decide!
6. Black flats. I have had the most difficult time finding a pair of black flats I like that are comfortable.
7. Paisley printed pants. My obsession with printed pants need to expand to this boho-awesomeness.
8. Fringe side bag. I've fallen in love with Brittany Balyn's red fringed bag. So one for myself that I don't have to pay for would be oh so wonderful.
9. Metallic banded rings. I can't find these anywhere!
10. Statement necklaces. I'm just in love with them.

The Final Countdown.

Christmas is in four days! Let the countdown begin...It arrived so quickly! I went to Target this morning to pick up the rest (except for my mother and father) of my Christmas gifts. Its been raining all day so I haven't done anything else but I thought I'd show you my boring outfit for shopping this morning. Let me just say this hoodie is so warm! It is my go to thing when I'm cold. Expect a Christmas sweater outfit tomorrow or on Christmas eve. Until my next post, Elyse.

desires #1

Due to the fact that I've restrained myself from spending any money (the least amount possible) until I start my job I've decided to make a list of the things I really want. Hopefully this will help me to restrain myself from buying anything that isn't these things. Just thought I'd share with you all.

First off are the shoes. My number one right now are a new pair of black sandals. I've had mine for four or five years now and they're beat up and I think slightly out of style. These steve madden ones would be ideal but I have yet to find them discounted anywhere. I found a pair at Kohl's that were perfect and really well priced but of course there were none in my size at the two Kohl's I went to. I hate having 9.5/10 size feet.
Next up are some black high-tops. In elementary and middle school I lived in high-top converse. That is what I was known for and I even had myself a pair of neon orange ones. I do still have a pair of black ones but they are completely torn on one side and have drawings on the toes. I would love to rock some with denim shorts or a girly dress. A pair of black vans would give me the same effect but I would prefer the converse.
Studded loafers are something I saw when they first came out in Topshop and I really liked them. I never really wanted them until about a month ago when I saw them in the stores I shop in. Forever 21 has them on their website but unfortunately the Forever 21 I go to never has a good selection of shoes and my foot sizing is too weird so I can't buy online.
My most recent desire is a pair of black ankle boots. I've never really been a fan of chelsea boots but I saw a pair in Target the other day and I decided I would love to have a pair. But I'm not too sure how they would look on my feet so I'll have to try them on and find out.
Finally, a pair of simple black flats. I've been looking for a pair of plain jane matte black flats but have had absolutely no luck in finding any. All the ones I see have little bows on the toes, have glitter all over, or are extremely uncomfortable. I find them to be the absolutely perfect shoe to wear with a pair of cuffed black jeans to give the outfit a touch of femininity.

I think I love black shoes. Until my next post, Elyse.
