Tie-dye Mess

I went to the Farmer's Market this morning with my mom and got tons of fruits and veggies (my favorite), and even brought home some lumpia, mmm. It was a tad hot for me to wear this, but I did it anyway. I was only outside for a short time.
One of the things I've been trying to do lately is wear things I've never worn or rarely wear. I have this habit of sticking to the pieces that I love, which isn't a bad thing, but I need to get more use out of my other things. I got this shirt for Christmas from my friend and this is the very first time ever worn it. Collared shirts just never seem casual enough me. Until my next post, Elyse.

Studded Button-down: F21, gift

P.S. Sorry for the mess, I wanted to have a different background and I kind of liked the way this looked.

Cravings

Below is a little selection of some items that I've been lusting over as of late. One of which I actually bought for myself the other day hehe.
1. Strappy Heels: These shoes have been all over the internet and its completely understandable why. They're sleek, timeless, and the perfect addition to an outfit. I've really been noticing how much shoes can change an outfit and these are just the apple of my eye right now. I rarely wear heels though so its not a smart buy.

2. Boyfriend Jeans: I love how slouchy and casual these look! Paired with strappy heels and a camisole...perfection.

3: Simple White Dress: My tan has been coming along nicely and I feel like I now need a white dress to compliment it. Something simple like this would be so versatile to layer with and wear all year long.

4. Flower Crown: My friends call me the flower child and as time goes on the more I feel the name really suits me. Flower crowns are everywhere and I feel a bit overdone at times, but I can't help from lusting for one of my very own!

5. Thigh-High Boots: This is the item I recently bought for myself, not these ones specifically but similar ones. I came across a picture of Vanessa Hudgens with thigh high boots, knee highs, and a cute little dress and I just fell head over heels in love. I think they're a very versatile statement shoe and I'm happy I found a wonderful pair for only $40.

6. Wedge Sneakers: When these first came about, I thought they were hideous until I saw the Isabel Marant ones on Sincerely Jules and I understood the obsession. Recently I've been seeing these Target ones around and I think they're a gorgeous dupe. While they are only $35, I'm still too hesitant to spend my money on them.

I'm also craving a pair of Birkenstocks but I'm so on and off with them I don't know what to do with myself. Until my next post, Elyse.

Choose Happiness

Last week after hearing my cousin talk about all our family members and their past or current depression I decided I was going to fight my way out of mine. I've been stuck in a negative headspace for around eight months and since taking Psych last quarter I knew that all I had to do was decide to not be depressed anymore. I tried a couple times but it was much harder than you'd think. But since my choice last week I feel really good. Every night I go to bed easily, being alone is easier, I laugh more, and even though it sounds cliche, food tastes better. Another wonderful benefit is I've been happier with the way I look, especially today. My tan is getting along nicely, today's braid is rocking my world, and this gorgeous dress from the Urban Outfitters sale really floats my boat. All I need is a flower crown. Below is a combination of selfies and happy posts I've been loving from tumblr (Heres mine). Until my next post, Elyse.

Barefoot Sunday

After spending a whole Saturday lying on the beach and soaking up the sun (no sunburn, yayyy!), I'm spending my Sunday lying around my house with no makeup on in a sundress and crochet cardigan (I like getting dressed whether or not I plan to leave the house). My hair needs a rinse, and my skin needs some lotion, but I just love how cute this dress and cardigan look together :) Have a wonderful week everyone! Until my next post, Elyse.

Old Navy Floral Dress: Superior Thrift, $4
Crochet Cardigan: Eco-Thrift, $4

Fourth of July

Happy Fourth of July!! Here is my semi-spirited outfit. I'm not doing anything special for the holiday, but its about 103 degrees here so I'm not complaining. Have a wonderful day!! Until my next post, Elyse.

Denim Tank: Superior Thrift, $3
Faded Glory Red High-Waisted Shorts: Superior Thrift, $4
Brown Braided Sandals: Target, $16
Smiley Face Necklace: F21, $2
Geometric Layered Necklace: Urban Outfitters, $16

Thrifted Looks

Guess who got a camera charger...this girl :) Finally I will have actual blog posts up. Its about damn time. I've been on summer break for two weeks now and I just decided that I'm dedicating my summer to my blog. I haven't found a job (after literally 25 applications), I don't have my driver's license, and I live 45 minutes from every single one of my friends. So that means I'll have a lot of free time and I want to use it here. That being said, can someone tell me how to get a good theme? I'm so clueless.
If I could do anything for the rest of my life, it would be thrifting. I love searching through the racks of clothes for the gems that are just waiting to be found. Below I've styled three fully thrifted outfits (except only one pair of shoes is thrifted, its hard to find size 9.5).

THE TWO-PIECE
I like how this outfit goes along with the "two-piece" trend but since the two shades of purple are different and the kimono has a print, its a bit more wearable.
Kimono: Superior Thrift, $5
Crochet Crop Top: Savers, $4
Purple High-Waisted Shorts: Eco-Thrift, $3

BE BASIC
A lot of people go to the thrift store to find unique pieces to fit in with their wardrobe, but the thrift store is a great place to find basics for super cheap.
Grey T-shirt: Savers, $4
Green Gap Jeans: Superior Thrift, $6
Woven Loafers: Discovery Thrift, $2
Crochet Crossbody: Garage Sale, $1

MOM JEANS
Not everything you find will be in wearable condition. Alterations might need to be made, but remember that when you thrift! These jeans were straight leg and I took them in to make them skinny.
Tie-dye Crop Top: Eco-thrift, $1
High-Waisted Jeans: Random Thrift Store, $.50
Brown Cross-body: Salvation Army, $3
Until my next post, Elyse.
